Using simple fresh ingredients is more natural and avoids preservatives and other additives that are often added to ready-made meals. You to reduce your intake of salt, sugar and fat that are often found in surprisingly high levels in ready meals.

We’ve put together 3 simple recipes, all featuring Cirio Tomatoes, to help you make some delicious dishes from scratch.

Why tomatoes? Well, they are sweet, juicy and delicious but more importantly they are healthy and make a great base to many dishes. One serving of tomatoes (150g) is a good source of Vitamins A, C, K, folic acid and potassium. They are naturally low in sodium. Be careful to look out for tomatoes like Cirio that has no salt added!

Cook delicious, appetising dishes with only 5 ingredients in only 15 minutes.

Penne all’arrabbiata

400g penne pasta
3 cloves of garlic
4 tablespoons olive oil
4/5 hot dried chili peppers
400g CIRIO Passata Rustica
1 bunch of parsley to decorate (optional)

Italian baked fish ‘al cartoccio’

400g fillet of cod
400g Cirio Chopped tomatoes
1 red onion
1 tbsp olive oil
Basil to taste

Tomato and basil soup

60ml extra virgin olive oil
1 garlic clove chopped
800g Cirio Peeled Plum Tomatoes
50g ciabatta bread crumbled
6-8 fresh basil leaves
